Use explicit definitions
Total moved material, saleable sand and waste can answer different business questions. Label each number by site, date, source and unit. Clarify whether a conversion uses short tons, metric tonnes or cubic yards.
Reconcile without double counting
If loads were recorded by truck and later classified after screening, update the classification trail instead of adding the processed quantity as another haul. Keep original and corrected figures visible.
In practice
A 45-ton estimated load later weighed at 43.6 tons should contribute 43.6 tons once, with the adjustment recorded.
