Mine-Pro Academy · curriculum preview

Train for the mine you actually work in.

Explore original interactive Part 46 lessons for surface sand and gravel. Take the curriculum at your own pace; your company documents any other training it provided and signs the combined record after the full requirement is met.

This is a curriculum preview. It does not record training time, issue certificates, accept payment, send email, or mail physical copies, or establish that a miner has completed Part 46 training. The mine operator must follow its written training plan.

Part 46 course catalog

Update, communicate and verify

Apply on site: Discuss this mine's changes with your trainer.
  • Identify changes that affect health or safety
  • Check the current route and work area before entering

A sand pit changes as the face advances. Today's berm, haul route, dump edge, plant access and equipment lineup may differ from the last shift. Ask which changes have occurred since your last visit and who controls access to the affected area.

A general course cannot supply the facts about your mine. The company's competent person must explain current changes and give the crew a way to report new conditions. Pause work and get a site-specific answer when the route or instruction is unclear.

Company-led field discussion

Walk the current routes and working places. Identify changed ground, traffic, equipment, plant, contacts and emergency arrangements; record the real discussion and duration.

Scenario: The usual haul road is barricaded and a new route has opened. What should the driver do before using it?

How the complete training record would work

  1. 01

The company adopts a suitable Part 46 plan and identifies each trainer's subjects.

  2. 02

Mine-Pro records actual online instruction; the company records and attests to actual training completed elsewhere, with its dates, topics, instructor and duration.

  3. 03

The designated responsible person reviews at least 480 documented minutes and required content before signing.

  4. 04

After the authorized signer certifies, Mine-Pro prepares a digital certificate and detailed record for the miner within 24 hours, then queues a print-ready copy for mailing to the miner’s chosen U.S. address within seven days.

A completed preview is not an official training session. There is no fixed split between online and company instruction. Part 46 annual refresher requires eight hours of training actually received and a record after each session; the person designated in the mine's plan signs the certification. See § 46.8 and § 46.9.
