Normalize context
Different sites may have different monthly targets and operating days. Report actual tons, target tons, pace and days worked side by side so a small site is not unfairly compared with a larger one.
Make exceptions explainable
Show the sources of missed pace: equipment downtime, weather, staffing or material changes. A chart should link back to the daily evidence rather than replacing it.
In practice
A site at 70,000 of an 80,000-ton target may be ahead of a site at 85,000 of a 160,000-ton target.
