Surface mining
Dump point communication and handoff
Keep the active dump position and any restrictions visible across crews.

Describe the active point
Specify the stockpile or dump area, approach direction and any spotter or traffic arrangement in the shift briefing. If the edge changes, communicate the change before the next truck arrives.
Log restrictions with time
A closed dump point needs a reason, start time and reopening decision. This helps explain production loss and gives the next shift a reliable handoff rather than a verbal warning that may be forgotten.
In practice
A soft edge is identified at 11:20 a.m.; loads move to the secondary stockpile until the area is re-examined.
