Part 46 annual refresher training

Track the eight hours, the rolling 12-month window and the subjects actually taught.

Track sessions and hours

Part 46 calls for at least eight hours of annual refresher training every 12 months. Sessions may be spread out. Document the subject, duration and date rather than assuming a toolbox talk alone is a completed annual refresher.

Review evidence before marking complete

A training calendar is a reminder; completion depends on the required instruction and certified record. Inspectors and miners may need access to the records, so the proof should be retrievable by name and mine.

In practice

Four two-hour sessions total eight hours only if each session contains qualifying training and is documented.
