Offline field records at remote mine sites
Preserve the event time and avoid duplicate submissions when connectivity returns.

Separate event and sync times
The date and time work was performed must remain distinguishable from the server time when an offline submission arrived. Store the site timezone and original device time for review.
Protect retries
Queue related records in dependency order and use idempotent identifiers so a retry after a weak-signal failure cannot create a second inspection. Display pending and failed states clearly to the operator.
In practice
A pre-shift completed at 6:05 a.m. offline and synced at 8:15 a.m. should show both moments correctly.
